grandaddy-will-be-mad

Purrdy had a love-don’t love relationship with Nugget, a local cat that lived a few doors away.  They would regularly chase each other, play together, and even snooze in the sun together.
During the winter, our pond had frozen over, and they had had a few experiences skating around on the ice trying to chase each other.

Spring had arrived, the pond thawed and Nugget was chasing Purrdy, who jumped onto the pond expecting it to be frozen.

SPLASH

she came streaking out of the pond yelling her disgust at being soaking wet, and promptly took refuge on our neighbours shed roof, trailing pond weed from her ear.

Our neighbours grand-daughter was visitting, and she came out and earnestly told Purrdy
“You must get down from there before grand-daddy sees you and gets mad, he doesn’t like cats in his garden”

Purddy shot her look of “I don’t care about what your grand-daddy thinks, I am WET!!” and continued disgustedly washing herself.
